JOHNS COUNTY SCIENCE FAIR:<\/strong><\/p><p>The St Johns County Science Fair began in 1978 as the River Region East Science Fair. This competition is a qualifying contest for projects to advance to the <strong>Florida State Science and Engineering Fair.<\/strong><\/p><p>Winners at the school science fairs may be selected by their schools to advance to the regional level.<\/p><p>Project categories at our fair include:<\/p><ul><li>Medicine and Health Sciences<\/li><li>Physics and Astronomy<\/li><li>Plant Sciences, Chemistry<\/li><li>Behavioral Sciences<\/li><li>Environmental Sciences<\/li><\/ul><p>Category placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd place and Honorable Mention) are presented for each category, when appropriate. Placement for a top award does not guarantee that a student qualifies to compete at the state level; the regional fair\u2019s scientific review committee retains the option of determining if a project meets the requirements for competition at the state level. Many special awards are available\u2014each of these has its own unique criteria and may or may not be linked to placement in a particular category.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
